Why should you read this book? And why a book by a German pastor at that? As the German nation, we know what it means to be covered by darkness and to lie captive in the dark. I call it the veil of silence.

But then the Lord healed our nation. The dividing wall between East and West fell in 1989, and to this day it is a miracle in my eyes. Today Germany stands firmly by Israel’s side. But still this veil of silence has not yet disappeared over us.

There is an anti-Semitism that is deeply rooted in us, which is so much more than rejecting Jewish life and having an anti-Israel attitude. This kind of anti-Semitism is like a negative seed that is deeply hidden in our Western culture and mindset that can break out again at any given moment.

And we do not only find this in Germany. It also exists in the United States...
